All State

Dedicated vocal and instrumental musicians have begun preparing for All State auditions. This prestigous event is hosted by NMEA, the Nebraska Music Educators Association. Many students have decided to take an All State Cats class that will help them learn the challenging music.

Choir

Fundraiser sales for the choir have been underway for the last few weeks.

Show choirs have begun rehearsal for the Old West Choir Fest hosted in the auditorium this November. While construction has complicated event planning for the last two years, groups are now free to resume performances on a familiar stage far from layers of tarp and duct tape.

Music for Choralaires, the varsity show choir group, includes Start a Fire from La La Land, You Will Be Found from Dear Evan Hanson, Man of Constant Sorrow from O Brother Where Art Thou, and Better When I’m Dancing by Meghan Trainor.

The younger group, 27th St. Singers, is slated to perform Feeling Good by Michael Buble, Crusin’ for a Bruisin’ from Teen Beach Movie, and Step One from the Broadway musical Kinky Boots.

Band

Marching Band had their first performance at a home football game last Saturday. They are now in the process of preparing for the Homecoming Parade + Pep Rally.

The Old West Band Fest, held in October, will be an opportunity to showcase marching and field routines.
